Elizabeth Peralez
Associate Professor of Computer Science
From her academic experience teaching and advising students to her professional credentials in software engineering and project management, Elizabeth Peralez brings an impressive background in computer science and information technology to Colorado Technical University.
Compelled by the thought of giving back to students, Peralez pursued a career in teaching. “Seeing the proverbial light bulb go on for a student, that’s my biggest thrill,” she says.
Today, she finds herself as both a coach and cheerleader for her students. She advises them to be patient yet persistent regarding fulfilling their career goals: “Earning a degree will not be easy, but the long-range benefits out weigh the great short-term effort. And, when necessary remind yourself that you can do it!”
When counseling graduates entering the work force, Peralez advises them, “Believe and trust the skills and knowledge you’ve learned. But realize that there’s still quite a lot to learn.”
Elizabeth Peralez joined the Colorado Technical University faculty in 2000, completing the CTU Faculty Certification Program and the Professional Instructor course. In addition to teaching and advising students, Peralez develops and conducts weekend seminars in information technology for undergraduate and graduate students
